GENERAL

Oral hydrocortisone is a corticosteroid that is typically used to treat certain forms of arthritis, allergies, skin disorders, blood disorders, asthma, kidney disorders, thyroid problems, autoimmune diseases, certain types of cancer, and intestinal problems.

Topical hydrocortisone is used to treat minor skin irritations, skin allergies, eczema, and other itching in certain parts of the body.

PROPER USAGE

Do not apply hydrocortisone to open wounds. Try not to let your pet lick the area that a topical preparation has been applied to.

SIDE EFFECTS

ORAL :  increased appetite, behavioral changes, weakness and nausea/vomiting.
