GENERAL

Used to increase potassium levels that result from kidney disease.

Possible drug interactions: Corticotropin, digoxin, penicillin, diuretics, non-steroidal antiinflammatories, glucocorticoids, mineralocorticoids, anticholinergics, ACE inhibitors.

SIDE EFFECTS

Muscle weakness, stomach upset, nausea and vomiting, decreased appetite.
