Position : Compounding Technician and customer service
Mary Jo has been interested in science since she was a little girl. She has a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Marquette University and worked for several years as a research tech at the Medical College of Wisconsin. While volunteering at the Wisconsin Humane Society, Mary Jo got the idea to start her own pet sitting business. Working with other people’s pets prompted an interest in learning more about their veterinary care. After a course of study in veterinary technology, Mary Jo worked for some years at a vet clinic, taking on more of an administrative role. She is thrilled to be at The Pet Apothecary, splitting her time between helping the front-office staff and working as a compounding technician. In one role she is able to directly communicate with clients regarding their pets’ medications, and in the other she is able to satisfy her love of science, working to create prescriptions that will help a wide variety of animals. Mary Jo has been married for nearly 30 years and is the proud mother of a daughter and a son. In her spare time she loves reading, drawing, and spending time outdoors hiking and camping.
